Wedding Flowers

It's been such a crazy week, that I haven't had time to post.
I thought I would have enough for at least three posts.
I would have too , if I would've remembered to take pictures!
I got so involved in my project at hand that I just didn't get them taken!

Yesterday, my nephew got married,
I made all of the wedding flowers.
Fresh flowers - not silk.
Once upon a time , I was a florist.
I don't miss it.
But when one of my family members gets married , it's one way I can help out.

So I ordered the flowers from Sam's Club online.
I have a love/hate relationship with Sam's Club/ Walmart.
I HATE their customer service.
Really do they train these people to be rude and unhelpful?
However, I LOVE the quality of the flowers we get.
I had the flowers ordered for delivery on Wednesday ... plenty of time.
Only ONE bunch of flowers came on Wednesday.
My sister was on the phone with Sam's Club most of the day ( getting not much satisfaction)
It was finally determined that our flowers were in OMAHA !
The plane had been diverted " for reasons beyond their control" !
I finally got the rest of the flowers and greenery on Thursday around 4 .
I was really behind schedule!

Mini calla lilies, lavender roses, purple alsrtomeria and eucalyptus

Purple dendrobium orchids.

Mini callas.
The quality of these flowers was excellent.
I'm still undecided whether I will order from Sam's club again....
their customer service was that bad !

Corsage.
I thought I would do a whole tutorial on making a corsage.
But, because my flowers came late and put me behind, I didn't get pictures taken. :(

Bridal Bouquet. ( Bad lighting)

Close up.

Church alter bouquet.

Here is a super easy and relatively inexpensive centerpiece yet beautiful and elegant.
Take one mirror , place a tall vase in the center, add an orchid and fill with water.
It looks like the flower is suspended in the water,
The other little thing on the mirror is a mini, battery operated, submersible light.
We dropped these in the vase after we added the water , it makes a great effect.

And last but not least . my very favorite arrangement I made for the wedding.
I had forgotten the basket my sister brought me for the flower girl.
I thought it was too big anyway.
My 2 year old grand daughter was the flower girl.
So I goggled " flower girl flower ideas" .
true that !
Anyway.....
This is what I found
flowergirl wand
Perfect !
Addie loves her magic wand, why not make a flower girl wand ?
She loved it !
And it was SO easy to make !
A few flowers and LOTS of sparkly tulle !
It was a first for me.
And I must say it is going to be my go-to flower girl piece from now on.
Not that I plan on doing any more wedding flowers....
At least not till another family member gets married!
