My Faux Mantle

I don't have a mantle.
I don't even have a fireplace.
Does that keep me from decorating like I have one?
DUH......NO!

In the blogging world I guess they call it a FANTLE ( fake mantle),
I prefer Faux Mantle.

I had a mantle once.
That's right, just once.
Out of all the homes we've lived in , I've only had a fireplace in one.
It didn't work when we bought it and it was really just a hole in the wall.
When the home was built , it had an ornate surround and mantle that went to the ceiling.
Previous owners ripped it out and sold it before they sold the house.
SHAME on them.
I don't think that would be legal today.
But... water under the bridge.
It had a gas insert , but we never used it, it made me nervous.
We had a local carpenter build a new surround and mantle.
Nowhere close to the original , but attractive.
I loved decorating it !
Sigh... that house is long gone from me .
But still my favorite.

Anyhoo....
My Faux mantle.
It's really just a sofa table from the thrift store ($3).
Someday I will paint it , but so far I have had coverings I wanted to use in my decor.
You may remember it from my fall display HERE.

My cardboard Christmas village.
Some under glass, some not.
(If you look close, you can see one of my outdoor displays through the window.)

I used a lace curtain panel for a tablecloth.
Way to improvise huh?

Love my cloches!

My faux mantle.

I also decorated Emily's REAL mantle.
As soon as I tweak it and get pictures , there will be a post.
I promise!
