Organic or.....Not

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Whitney Farms for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

If you've been reading my blog for a while,

you know I'm more of a flower gardener than a veggie gardener.

Mostly because I'm a lazy gardener.

I garden for the enjoyment of it .

And to me , veggies always seemed like work.

But...

I love playing in the dirt.

And...

 there is a certain satisfaction that comes from picking your own tomatoes and cucumbers.

I love to take a salad somewhere and say ,

" why yes, I grew these in my garden ".

I've never really worried too much about the fertilizer I use .

Because we have farms , I tend to use a lot of poop ( composted of course )

However this year , I'm thinking I need to be a little more selective.

The reason ?

I'm not putting anything in Addie's mouth that isn't completely safe!

So when the opportunity came to write this post , I thought , I better give it a try.

Whitney Farm Organic plant soil and food is

* low to no dust

* no manure smell ( which doesn't offend me , but does some )

* easy to apply

*and is a specially designed protein-based blend that provides plants with both macro and micronutrients to help them grow and thrive.

The Man built me a new raised bed this year.

I had to twist his arm a bit ....

We filled it with free compost from the county .

They have free mulch too.

So...

since I am using composted soil , I think I better use organic plant food.

Here are some coupons to help get you started.

I'm sure mine won't be quite this lovely.

But I will really try not to be as lazy this year :)

I really want to brag about my tomatoes and cucumbers ...

  1. I want a raised bed. Think Ron would build me one? I don't want to tear up my yard -- I just want to put a raised bed in the corner. This year though -- pot gardening and I will use the Whitney Farms items to feed. :)
