Revamped Dining Table and Chairs

I've been a bit MIA lately.
Super. Duper. Busy...

You may remember I closed my resale store the end of June.
Since then I have been selling my Funky (repurposed ) Furniture at a local store.
Several friends and previous customers had been after me to have a sale here in the Trailerhood .
Since we were taking our annual girl's weekend and I wanted a little extra cash ,
I decided to have one last week .

Of course , it wasn't that easy.
I'm way too detail oriented...
So Hubs had to help me fix up a spot in the shed ( I'll post pics when it looks like I REALLY want it to) and then I had to get busy on the stack of projects that had been piling up over the summer.

This first one I did was the one that had been bugging me all summer.

It was taking up way too much room in my shed.
I was VERY happy with the way it turned out !

The table started out like this ,
It was very sturdy , just needed a little TLC.

I had found this set of 6 chairs ,
Awesome arms , huh ?

I thought they would make a happy family.

Sooo...
I united them with some black paint.

I prefer to spray paint my projects,
but I knew this table would get used by whoever bought it ,
so I wanted the finish to be really durable and scrub-able.
So Hubs brushed on the first two coats.

The reason I don't like to paint with a brush -
brush stokes ... HATE them !

Then , I gave it two more coats with this little mini roller I have.
Then  I was happy.

The chairs got sprayed and covered in this fabulous paisley fabric .

I'm so happy this project is done and out of my shed.
And VERY happy with the out come .
This set actually sold BEFORE the sale !

Of course , I had to do a bunch of Funky Furniture projects too...

It was a great sale.
I almost sold out !
I'm  having another one in a couple weeks ...
I better get painting !

Wordless ( almost) Wednesday with Addie ....

My chair obsession continues...
in the garden.

With the drought this summer,
the succulents did the best by far ...

Volunteer sunflower...
thanks birdies.

Happy Wordless ( almost ) Wednesday :)

One of my favorite quotes from a blogger was ,
"white spray paint is the botox of design "
And I completely agree.
However , I would change that to just spray paint .
Any spray paint , any color.

Nothing can take something out of date and dingy and turn it into something beautiful and useful again like a can of spray paint !

For instance,
this old iron plant stand.
Popular in the late 70's early 80's.
Who's Mom or grandma doesn't have one of these hanging around.

With a face lift of Rustoleum 2X in Aqua

Much more fun huh ?

If you have been read my blog before ,
you know I will spray paint anything .
Some things multiple times.

Like Addie's steps,
the first time I painted them in Key Lime,

they were just a little too lime...
So, they became Fire Orange

My new favorite Rustoleum color !

Or this Goodwill lamp ,

I don't remember what color it was originally ,
but I sprayed it red for my bedroom'
then decided it needed a new home in the living room.
I was trying to inject a little color in my too neutral room.
This color is called Eden and it's my new favorite shade of green.
I covered the lampshade with burlap and
WAALAA !
A brand new lamp !

I used it on this baker's rack also .
I picked it up for FREE on the curbside :)

Isn't it great?
AND it was FREE !

It was missing the top ,
so Hub cut a piece of left over counter top to fit .
Perfect !

And my last makeover to share ,

These maple end tables with a faux marble top.
( I think Formica of some sort )

Don't they look much happier Fire Orange?
I even used the same hardware,
just touched it up with a Flat Black.

Side note :
These tables and some of my other Funky Furniture pieces are for sale and can be found at

I must say , I have found a few things that couldn't even be saved with spray paint,
but not too many  :)
